    Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, 1995

Chassis No.: ZA9BB02E0RCD39021 $1,870,000 | Sold • Odometer: 675 km • Engine: V-12 • Transmission: Manual • Exterior: Blu Bugatti • Interior: Grigio Scuro • Odometer reads 675 kilometers • 1 of 139 EB110s produced • 1 of only 30 Super Sports produced • Original Blu Bugatti paint • Original Grigio Scuro leather interior • Quad-turbocharged 3.5L/603 HP V-12 engine • 6-speed manual transmission • Limited-slip rear differential • All-wheel drive • Advanced ultralightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis • Best in Class at the 2022 The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering and the 2023 The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance • Production of this Super Sport began on March 30, 1994 • The body was then sent to suppliers as a training and demonstration model, delaying actual production of the car until June 1995 The stunning all-wheel drive EB110 SS was born from Bugatti’s Italian-era revival under Romano Artioli, who resurrected the marque in 1987 and introduced the EB110 in 1991 to commemorate Ettore Bugatti’s 110th birthday. It was a tour de force in all respects, built around an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber monocoque by French aircraft manufacturer Aérospatiale and clothed in dramatic bodywork penned by renowned automobile designer Marcello Gandini. Its 60-valve, quad-turbocharged V-12, developed by Paolo Stanzani, was rated at 611 HP in its ultimate SS (Super Sport) tune. In concert with a 6-speed gearbox, this made the EB110 one of the fastest and most advanced supercars of its era. Offered in GT and SS (Super Sport) variants, the EB110 is exceptionally rare, with just 139 examples produced. According to factory press material, the EB110 SS was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.14 seconds and reaching 218.1 MPH. This top-specification 1995 Bugatti EB110 SS is an extremely fascinating example of these formidable supercars. Its production was initiated on March 30, 1994, followed by use by Bugatti suppliers as a training and demonstration model, consequently delaying actual completion of the car until June 1995. As it was away for supplier training and had not received its “Beliberata,” or quality control approval tests, it could not be found and accounted for during the proceedings when Bugatti Automobili S.p.A. declared bankruptcy on September 23, 1995. Considered lost to history, the car was later rediscovered in Munich, Germany, and then inspected and serviced in November 2019 by former Bugatti engineers Federico Trombi and Gianni Sighinolfi at B Engineering in Campogalliano, Italy. Offered with the odometer reading just 675 kilometers at the time of writing, this one-of-30 EB110 Super Sport is a high-level award winner, with Best in Class honors to its credit at the 2022 edition of The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering and Best in Class at the 2023 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. https://www.mecum.com/lots/1170349/1995-bugatti-eb110-super-sport

    Bugatti EB110 GT, 1995

Chassis No.: 99 €1,530,400 | Sold • French title • The only EB110 GT built in white (Bianco Monaco) • One owner, only 19 387km from new • Superb condition, incredibly well preserved • Sold with its rare original piece of luggage • Serviced by B-Engineering in 2018 The Bugatti EB110 was the company’s first model after it had been taken over by Romano Artioli in 1987. Presented in September 1991 at La Défense in Paris, in the presence of Alain Delon, it owed its name to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Ettore Bugatti and revolutionized the world of supercars. The most brilliant engineers contributed to its development: they included Paolo Stanzani, Marcello Gandini and the teams from Michelin and the Aérospatiale group. Its 3.5-litre V12 with four turbos produced 560bhp at 8000rpm, an exceptional figure for the period. Able to exceed 340kph, it was one of the fastest sports cars in the world, and all the road tests in the specialised press acknowledged how easy it was to drive, a tribute to its clever design. Production was very limited, with fewer than 100 GT versions built. It was generally finished in French racing blue, but the model from Paul-Émile B’s collection was set apart by its white paintwork. Its owner told us why: “In its usual blue, the Bugatti EB110 always seemed a bit clumsy to me. Until the day when I was wandering around Monaco as a tourist and stopped in front of this white version in the showroom of Monte-Carlo Royal Motors. I liked it straightaway and bought it. Since then, it has given me a great deal of satisfaction, it’s very pleasant to drive and exceptionally reliable.” Homologated on 10 May 1995, the EB110 GT was then delivered to Monte-Carlo Royal Motors, Bugatti’s sole dealership in Monaco, where it remained on display for a few months before it was sold to Paul-Émile B, who registered it new in France in October 1996, first in the name of his company and then his own name. The car was featured in the magazine Auto Rétro in November 1998. In 2001, a valuation report by Jean-Michel Cérède noted a mileage of 10,330km. The car has always been looked after by Michel Magnin and used regularly, which explains its superb condition today. It had covered barely 18,000km in 2018 when a full service was carried out by B-Engineering, a specialist at Campogalliano, where Artioli’s Bugatti factory had been located; the work included replacing the Michelin tyres, adjusting the brake discs and replacing the windscreen, which had a few chips. The bill for the service (on file) amounted to nearly 12,000 €. It is the only EB110 GT originally built in white (Bianco Monaco) and was therefore invited by Bugatti to Molsheim in 2019 for the presentation of the Centodieci, an impressive hypercar developing 1600bhp, of which 10 examples were built as a tribute to the EB110. With only 19 387 km recorded and in immaculate condition in every respect, sold with its original piece of luggage, this EB110 GT adds to its exceptional performance and handling its white finish, which as well as making it very rare, gives it a lighter and tauter appearance than the more common colours. Please note that the car is sold without technical inspection. Photos © Kevin Van Campenhout https://www.artcurial.com/en/sales/6144/lots/309-a
