With ever more stringent emissions regulations in the offing, Morgan was eventually forced to abandon BMW's 367bhp 4.8-litre V8 engine, signing off in 2018 with a 50th Anniversary run of 50 cars. Two versions were offered: a green roadster with automatic transmission and a convertible hood, and a blue speedster with a manual gearbox and only a folding aero screen by way of weather protection.
This left-hand drive 50th Anniversary roadster was sold new in 2018 and has covered a mere 160 kilometres since it left the Malvern factory. The car has been kept in dry storage since new and been SORN'd since delivery. Offered with its factory build file, owner's handbook and current V5C document, it is presented in effectively 'as new' condition and represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of these historic last-of-the-line Morgan Plus 8 models. Also included in the sale is a Christopher Ward C1 Morgan Plus 8 Chronometer (complete with box), one of a limited edition of 50 made in collaboration with the Morgan Motor Company.
