A la fin des années 80, la 190 2. 5 16 V est la réplique de Mercedes à la BMW M3 E30. Berline quatre portes destinée à l'homologation en Groupe A, la Mercedes 190 2.5-16 reprend la ligne de son ainée avec bouclier avant aérodynamique, élargisseurs d'ailes, bas de caisse enveloppant et aileron sur la malle arrière. Sous le capot, le quatre cylindres à double arbres à cames en tête développé avec Cosworth cube 2 498cm3 et développe 195 ch à 6 750 tr/m pour les modèles catalysés. La transmission fait appel à une boîte inversée Getrag accouplée à un différentiel à glissement limité. L'exemplaire présenté a été vendu neuf le 26 janvier 1989 par l'agent Mercedes-Benz de Bayonne.
Il dispose d'origine d'un toit ouvrant électrique et retient un " bleu noir métallisé " marié à un intérieur " Etoffe Noire 071 " qui sied particulièrement à cet habitacle. La voiture change ensuite de mains en 1992 alors qu'elle totalise 59 250 km. Son actuel propriétaire, fin connaisseur de la marque, en a fait l'acquisition en 2020. Totalisant aujourd'hui 98 539 km d'origine, ainsi que le corrobore le carnet d'entretien régulièrement tamponné, ce bel exemplaire a bénéficié récemment d'une importante révision dans le réseau, dont la facture de près de 5000€ est jointe au dossier.
Pneumatiques, filtres, fluides furent remplacés, le freinage et les trains roulants furent révisés et réglés, accompagnés d'un contrôle général. La carrosserie a été repeinte par le précédent propriétaire, tandis que la sellerie est restée d'origine et bien préservée. Beaucoup plus rare que la version 2.3, cette 2.5 associe un historique limpide à un faible kilométrage qui en font un exemplaire particulièrement désirable et recherché des connaisseurs. A four-door sedan homologated for Group A, the Mercedes 190 2.5-16 took on the design elements of the motorsport version with an aerodynamic front spoiler, fender flares, wrap-around underbody and a rear spoiler on the trunk. Under the bonnet, the four-cylinder dual overhead camshaft developed in conjunction with Cosworth developed 195bhp at 6750rpm from the 2498cc catalyzed engine. The transmission was an inverted Getrag 'box coupled to a limited slip differential.
The car on offer was sold new on 26 January 1989, by the Mercedes-Benz dealer in Bayonne. It has an electric sunroof as standard and retains a metallic black-blue color combined with a particularly suitable "Etoffe Noire 071" interior. The car then changed hands in 1992 when it had covered 59,250 km. Its current owner, a fine connoisseur of the brand, acquired it in 2020. With a total of 98,539 km since new, as confirmed by the regularly stamped service booklet, this beautiful example has recently benefited from a major overhaul at an official dealership, the invoice (nearly €5,000) for which is in the file.
Tyres, filters, fluids were replaced, brakes and running gear were overhauled and adjusted, along with a general inspection. The bodywork was repainted by the previous owner, the upholstery is original and well preserved. Much rarer than the 2.3 version, this 2.5 combines a clear history with low mileage which makes it a particularly desirable and sought-after example for connoisseurs.
