Perhaps Buford T. Justice is going to need more than his squad car. After all, he never had to deal with anything like this 2022 Jeep Gladiator Bandit Edition Pickup as he pursued his cowboy-hatted prey back in the day. This beautifully refinished, current-year special is documented as No. 17 of the limited run of 2022 Bandit Edition Gladiators and comes with a letter, certificate of authenticity and exclusive fender graphics. Moreover, this example has been driven a mere 217 miles since delivery from the factory. Like all Jeep Gladiators, the company’s well-scienced 3.6L V-6 engine is used for power, with this example having the gasoline version backed by the 8-speed automatic transmission.
There is now a unique Bandit-series specific lifted suspension mounted beneath it, working in conjunction with the factory Command-Trac 4-Wheel Drive and Dana 44 Sure Grip front and rear axles. Of course, the first thing noticed by everyone is the refinished black exterior with its special graphics package and body-line pinstriping, hood bulge, hood bird decal, gold-accented grille and lamp trim, and custom lettering for Bandit and Outlaw. The interior is also finished in black with exclusive Bandit gold trim and graphics, including the dash facing and special seat covers.
Also visible inside is the big 8.4-inch system screen for the audio and touch-controls package, cruise control, power accessories and a console with floor shifter and 4WD selector. The final touch on this unique release are the one-off series black and gold wheels unique to the Bandit Edition, with the truck riding on Milestar Patagonia M/T knobby tires. The Bandit legacy is part of America’s automotive heritage; Bandit Gladiator No. 17 is certain to be capable of drawing the same attention as its Firebird predecessors, and with a little more head room, leg room and ground clearance.
