Produced from 1954-57, the Jaguar XK140 was the successor to the legendary XK120. Although they shared nearly identical design and engineering, the XK140 evolved the breed with advanced rack-and-pinion steering, larger brakes and telescopic shock absorbers that helped provide vastly improved road handling and suspension dynamics. The cabin interior was increased in size by moving the engine, firewall and dashboard 3 inches forward, making it roomier for the occupants. This stunning 1955 XK140 Fixed Head Coupe presents beautifully in its Ivory exterior fitted with the optional wire wheels, white sidewall tires and auxiliary front driving lights.
The interior is richly appointed in red leather with a matching red carpet and features a burled-walnut dashboard finished to a deep sheen. Jaguar had already established itself in the international world of motorsports by winning Le Mans in 1951 and 1953, and it would ultimately win in 1955, making this a very special year for the XK140.
