صمم إيان كالوم سيارة Aston Martin DB7، وكُشف عنها لأول مرة في معرض جنيف للسيارات عام 1993.

استلهمت السيارة كثيرًا من تصميم طرازات أستون مارتن السابقة، ومنها DB4 وDB5 وDB6، وتُعد واحدة من أجمل سيارات أستون التي صُنعت على الإطلاق. وانتقل إنتاج أحدث طرازات أستون مارتن من مقر الشركة الأيقوني في نيوبورت باغنيل إلى منشأة مخصصة بُنيت لهذا الغرض في بلوكسهام، أوكسفوردشاير.
