The beautiful 1964 Chrysler 300K convertible offered here is an exception to that rule. Just 625 of these cars were originally produced that year, and it has benefitted from a restoration completed in 2020 by Fenders and Fins in Woodinville, Washington, which utilized rebuilt and NOS parts throughout the project. The wiring, suspension, exhaust and convertible top components were all either refreshed or replaced during that process. The balanced and blueprinted 413 RB wedge engine under the hood is now bored and stroked, displacing 472 CI and equipped with the legendary long-ram induction system, complete with dual Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetors with electric choke operation. Featuring 9.0 compression, it is backed by a rebuilt A727 3-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission with upgraded torque converter. The rebuilt original rear end has a 3.34:1 limited-slip gearset and this car even has a 4-wheel disc brake conversion with an electric booster and steel lines. The body wears metallic Royal Ruby Red and the correct white factory pinstriping, with a white boot covering the power-operated Bright White vinyl convertible top. The interior is also in white, with a refurbished clear acrylic steering wheel on a tilt column, power bucket seats, factory console with floor shifter and console-mounted tachometer, the factory air conditioning refreshed with R134A refrigerant, and a refurbished Chrysler AM/FM radio with solid state internals and updated USB connectivity. Luxury continues with power windows, courtesy lamps, dual fender-mounted rearview mirrors and factory-tinted glass. The model’s trademark grille is over chrome bumpers with overriders, and the car rides on premium chrome wire wheels and modern whitewall radial tires. This sale will also include original owner’s manuals, authentic Chrysler sales literature, service records and receipts. With great appearance options and performance-oriented upgrades, this special “gentleman’s (or gentlewoman’s) Hot Rod” offers a unique twist to the Chrysler 300 heritage. https://www.mecum.com/lots/1095154/1964-chrysler-300k-convertible/
