The 997.2-generation GT3 RS was already the darling of the automotive press. But before the model and enduring “Mezger” engine bowed out to be replaced by the 991-type, Porsche increased the capacity of the famed motor by 200 cc and installed the crankshaft from its RSR race car to create the exquisite 4.0. Delivering 493 horsepower via an engaging six-speed manual transmission, this last hurrah remains for many the peak of the legendary 911.
Offered here is the 541st example from the limited run of 600 cars. It holds a 21 December 2011 date of production before being registered for the first time the following month. This GT3 RS 4.0 was subsequently bought by The Curated Collection, a collector of many significant track-focused 911s, in late October 2016 via August SA of Lasne in Belgium. According to the purchase invoice, it was then noted as having covered 9,800 kilometres.
Eight years later, the car displays 10,094 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, while it is accompanied by owner’s guides and invoices detailing a May 2022 service completed by Kronos Porsche of Louvain-la-Neuve.
One of the all-time great versions of one of the all-time great sports cars, the opportunity to purchase this GT3 RS 4.0 is not to be missed.
La GT3 RS de la génération 997.2 était déjà l'enfant chérie de la presse automobile. Mais avant que le modèle et l'excellent moteur "Mezger" ne tirent leur révérence pour laisser place à la génération 991, Porsche a décidé d'augmenter la cylindrée du célèbre moteur en lui ajoutant 200 cm3 et en lui attribuant le vilebrequin de la version RSR de compétition, pour atteindre 4 litres. Développant 493 ch transmis à une boîte manuelle à six rapports, cette version ultime reste pour beaucoup le sommet de toutes les 911.
L'exemplaire qui est proposé ici porte le numéro 541 sur cette série limitée de 600 voitures. Elle est sortie d'usine le 21 décembre avant de recevoir sa première immatriculation le mois suivant. Fin octobre 2016 et par l'intermédiaire du concessionnaire August SA, de Lasne en Belgique, cette GT3 RS 4.0 a été achetée par "The Curated Collection", une collection qui réunit de nombreuses Porsche 911 spéciales à vocation sportive. D'après la facture d'achat, le kilométrage enregistré était alors de 9 800 km.
Huit ans plus tard, au moment de rédiger ce catalogue, la voiture affiche 10 094 km. Elle est accompagnée de ses guides d'utilisation et de factures qui fournissent le détail d'une révision effectuée en mai 2022 par Kronos Porsche, de Louvain-la-Neuve.
S'agissant d'une des meilleures versions d'une des voitures de sport les plus célèbres de tous les temps, cette GT3 RS 4.0 représente une opportunité qu'il serait dommage de laisser passer.
