Launched in 2015, the lightweight track-focused McLaren 675LT coupé was the first car to revive the marque’s legendary “Long Tail” styling, which had not graced one of its cars since the F1 GTR race car some 20 years prior. Based on the 650S, the 675LT took every part of its accomplished elder sibling, and made it harder and faster.
The limited-run 675LT made its debut to widespread media acclaim, and given its immediate success, a year later McLaren announced a Spider variant with a folding hardtop roof, allowing its intoxicating performance to be unleashed without confinement. Adding a modest 40 kilograms to the hard-top car’s weight, the 675LT Spider is not only capable of reaching 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and 200 km/h in 8.1 seconds, but it continues onwards to a top speed of 326 km/h, figures almost identical to those of the coupé.
This 2016 675LT Spider is one of 500 examples, finished in Chicane Grey over an orange and black leather and Alcantara-trimmed interior, with contrasting orange stitching, a carbon fibre and Alcantara-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and carbon fibre paddles. It is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V-8 engine paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and shows just 9,646 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing.
Lancée en 2015, la légère McLaren 675LT orientée circuit était la première voiture à reprendre le légendaire style "longue queue" propre à la marque, qui n'était pas réapparu depuis la F1 GTR de compétition née quelque 20 ans auparavant. Basée sur la 650 S, la 675 LT reprenait toutes les pièces de son excellente devancière, dans une version plus dure, plus rapide et plus adaptée à la piste.
Produite en série limitée, la 675 LT a reçu dès le départ un accueil enthousiaste de la part de la presse et, compte tenu de ce succès immédiat, McLaren a lancé un an plus tard une version Spider dotée d'un toit escamotable, ce qui permettait de profiter de performances de haut niveau dans une carrosserie découvrable. Avec un poids ne dépassant que de 40 kg la version coupé, la 675 LT Spider est non seulement capable de passer de 0 à 100 km/h en 2,9 secondes, mais aussi d'atteindre 200 km/h en 8,1 secondes pour une vitesse maxi de 326 km/h, chiffres pratiquement identiques à ceux du coupé.
Cette 675LT Spider de 2016 fait partie des 500 exemplaires produits. Elle est peinte en "Chicane Grey" et présente un intérieur en cuir et Alcantara orange et noir avec des coutures orange, un volant à trois branches en Alcantara et carbone, et des palettes en carbone. Elle est équipée d'un moteur V8 de 3,8 litres double turbo accolé à une transmission à double embrayage automatique à 7 rapports, et n'affichait que 9 646 km au compteur lors de la préparation de ce catalogue.
