A rare opportunity to acquire a collector-quality RX-7 FD requiring little to no expenditure and ready to be enjoyed exactly as Mazda intended. The 1996 Mazda RX-7 FD (FD3S) is the third and final generation of the RX-7, a highly sought-after Japanese sports coupe known for its lightweight chassis, near-perfect weight distribution, and unique twin-turbocharged rotary engine. The FD featured an aerodynamic, curvaceous body and a sophisticated double-wishbone suspension for superior handling. The compact, lightweight rotary engine allowed for a 50:50 weight distribution. Powered by a 1.3-litre twin-rotor Wankel rotary engine (13B-REW) offering 261bhp, 217lbft and 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds.
Imported in 2004 and showing just two former registered UK keepers, this example is exceptionally well presented, having recently been refinished in its original Silver Stone Metallic. The interior of the car has not been modified in any way and is as it left the factory in 1996. The engine bay is impressive, almost showroom fresh and we understand the underside is also in excellent condition.
