Following up on the stunning Murciélago introduced in 2001 as Lamborghini’s first new model after Volkswagen’s acquisition of the famed Italian manufacturer, the Murciélago Roadster was introduced in 2004. Presented as the Murciélago Barchetta at the 2003 North American Auto Show in Detroit, the Murciélago Roadster was designed by Luc Donkerwolke, who drew inspiration for the Roadster’s updated rear pillars and engine cover from such diverse sources as the B-2 stealth bomber, the Wally 118 WallyPower super-luxury yacht and architect Santiago Calatrava’s visually stunning City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain.
Weighing just 29 kilograms (65 pounds) more than the coupe, the Murciélago Roadster is capable of matching its forebear’s more than 200 MPH top speed. Offered with the odometer showing 19,038 miles, this 2005 Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster was originally sold by Lamborghini Orange County in California. Power is delivered by Lamborghini’s legendary 6.2L V-12 engine, which was rooted in the company’s original V-12 design of the early 1960s and factory-rated at 572 HP. The strong yet light carbon fiber engine bay and bracing maintains structural rigidity at a minimal weight penalty.
The unforgettable Giallo Evros exterior finish is protected by front end PPF and complemented by a black soft top. The yellow and black interior features yellow contrast stitching.
