  • Ferrari’s triumphant return to front-engine, V-12-powered grand tourers, finished in the classic combination of Rosso Corsa over Beige
  • Delivered new via Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo of Wilsonville, Oregon; displays 8,124 miles at cataloguing
  • Desirably equipped with carbon fiber-backed racing seats with Connolly leather and Scuderia Shields; fitted with Tubi exhaust
  • Benefits from a major service completed in 2022 and accompanied by window sticker, manuals, keys and remotes, and tools, as well as its original exhaust
  • Awarded Platinum by the Ferrari Club of America in 2023; an excellent candidate for further club presentation, or to enjoy on the open road

As it entered production in 1996, the Ferrari 550 Maranello had great shoes to fill. The new model effectively replaced the final iteration of the fabled Testarossa and was the spiritual successor to the Daytona as Ferrari’s flagship 12-cylinder, two-seat grand tourer. The front-mounted 5.5-liter V-12 was rated at 485 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, while a gated manual six-speed gearbox was the only transmission offered.

The 550 Maranello’s chassis featured electronically variable suspension, ventilated disc brakes at all four corners, and 18-inch five-spoke wheels. It soon became known for its performance potential, setting three production car speed records in 1998—covering 100 kilometers at an average speed of 304 km/h, 100 miles at an average speed of 190.2 mph, and driving one hour at an average speed of 184 mph—all of which would stand until 2002. The 550 would achieve 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, 100 mph in 10.2 seconds, and 150 mph in 23.5 seconds on its way to a 199-mph top speed.

Delivered new via the noted Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo of Wilsonville, Oregon, in October 2021, this 550 Maranello was finished in classic Rosso Corsa with optional Scuderia Shields on the fenders; black brake calipers are visible behind silver-painted five-spoke wheels. Its interior was specified in Beige with Castoro (light brown) carpets. Notably, the cabin is desirably equipped with carbon fiber-backed racing style seats, neatly trimmed in Beige Connolly leather, in size large.

This Ferrari has seen only limited road use from new and displays 8,124 miles at time of cataloguing. It has nevertheless been carefully maintained, with 2019–2025 service invoices on file reflecting the care it has received over the years. In 2022, with the car having covered 6,752 miles from new, NJB Automotive of Westerville, Ohio, performed a major service, including replacement of timing belts, tensioners, and accessory belts. Also in 2022, its interior “sticky buttons” were stripped and refinished, and later that year Modern Elix of West Chester, Pennsylvania, applied a full exterior protective package to preserve its factory paintwork.

In recognition of this 550 Maranello’s quality and presentation, it received the Ferrari Club of America’s Platinum Award at the 2023 Pennsylvania Concorso Ferrari. It is presently fitted with a Tubi exhaust, though its original exhaust accompanies the sale, and it is further offered with its window sticker, 2019–2025 service invoices, manuals, two keys, three remotes, and tools.

Finished in classic colors and well cared-for from new, this low-mileage 550 Maranello is a modern classic. It would be an excellent candidate for Cavallino Classic exhibition, further FCA participation, or simple enjoyment on the open road—the purpose for which this magnificent V-12 grand tourer was designed and built.
