The 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 GSS prototype is powered by its original LT1 5.7-liter OHV V8 engine modified with a Paxton supercharger, programmable fuel injection, a high-volume fuel pump and an adjustable fuel regulator. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip rear axle with a 3.73:1 gearset. Output modifications include headers and a GSS stainless-steel exhaust system, with the Paxton system reported at approximately 10 pounds of boost at 5,500 rpm and an estimated 450rwhp. The chassis features GSS Secre-Trac lowering springs, a GSS shock-tower brace, subframe connectors, a tubular Panhard rod, a torque arm and upgraded rear control arms.
Stopping is supported by GSS 13-inch Brembo front disc brakes. The exterior is equipped with the GSS aero body kit, a rear spoiler, GTS headlight and taillight covers, special-order T-Tops and black hood stripes added during modifications. The vehicle rides on GSS 17x9.5 aluminum wheels fitted with 285/40ZR-17 Goodyear tires. Interior features include Paxton gauges positioned ahead of the shifter, a console plate reading "002/250" for the Granatelli Signature Series and standard Z/28 components consistent with the prototype build.
This GSS Z28 is Serial No. 2 of two prototypes constructed and is the only surviving Andy Granatelli Signature Series example, used originally as the Paxton Automotive SEMA display vehicle. Documentation since new is included, along with Motor Trend magazine coverage. 6,996 miles (title reads exempt). CARFAX shows mileage inconsistency on 04/27/2004.
