At the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, British sports car legend Aston Martin unveiled the Rapide, essentially a four-door fastback version of its DB9 sports car. Built from 2010-2020, this high-performance sports saloon featured Aston Martin’s 5.9L V-12 engine mated to either a 6- or 8-speed ZF Touchtronic automatic transmission. Then, in 2018, Aston Martin offered a limited run of just 188 special, higher-performance Rapide AMRs. The example on offer is one of just 188 Aston Martin Rapide AMRs and sports just 9,931 miles on the odometer.
Finished in Onyx Black over a Black Obsidian interior, this Rapide AMR features the AM29 specification, 5.9L V-12 engine that produces 595 HP and 483 lb-ft of torque via airflow improvements and software recalibration. This increased horsepower output is then flowed through a recalibrated 8-speed ZF Touchtronic automatic transmission that enables the Rapide AMR to run from 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 210 MPH, making it the world’s fastest four-door automobile in 2019.
Hauling the Rapide down from over 200 MPH is a carbon ceramic braking system with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear, all working on massive 21-inch forged alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Supersport tires. Inside, luxury abounds with an Obsidian Black interior utilizing Bridge of Weir leather and Alcantara upholstery, as well as heated front seats, navigation and a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system.
