2008 – Aston Martin DBS Chassis no. SCFAB05D69GE00311 French registration document French registration certificate “Casino Royale spec, originally French, manual gearbox, and just 14,700 km on the clock!” “A Casino Royale spec, sold new in France, with a manual gearbox and just 14,700 km on the clock!” On 22 November 2006, EON Productions released the latest instalment in the legendary James Bond series: Casino Royale. Her Majesty’s favourite secret agent finds himself in Montenegro for a crucial game of poker… As car enthusiasts, we remember this scene for one detail: a new Bond Car was born, the Aston Martin DBS.

Built at the Gaydon factory, the DBS is an evolution of the standard DB9: its V12 engine has been boosted to 517 hp, most of the body panels are made of carbon fibre, and its styling has been revamped for a sportier look. Our example is one of the 177 most sought-after units, featuring the following specifications: the colour scheme from the film Casino Royale, a manual gearbox, left-hand drive, and a 2+0 configuration (rather than 2+2). It was delivered on 15 July 2008 by Aston Martin Paris to Benjamin Castaldi, a French television presenter, who kept it for only a short time.

The original purchase invoice, for €244,000 including VAT, is still on file.#00311 spent its life in the Paris region, passing from Mr Castaldi into the hands of a famous motorbike racer: it was then registered as 62 RHT 75. Its history is fully documented in its extensive file of invoices, all from Aston Martin Paris, which also allows us to confirm the accuracy of the approximately 14,700 km shown on its odometer. Since its last service (Aston Martin Paris, 10/2024), the car has covered just over 1,800 km.Today, our DBS is in perfect condition and runs flawlessly.

The V12 paired with the 6-speed manual gearbox is a delight in its versatility: at a reasonable pace, the car cruises discreetly, and at a more sustained pace, it tirelessly revs with a mesmerising sound. As for the chassis, it is perfectly suited to the beast’s 517 hp, unlike the V12 Vantages, which are often considered tricky to handle!Extremely rare in this combination of colours and options, with such low mileage and still accompanied by all the documents in its file (service log, purchase invoice and service bills), DBS models are potential future collector’s items! Presented here with a still reasonable estimate, #00311 is undoubtedly one of the best buys of the moment.
