Honda Adds Google Gemini AI

Google Gemini is coming to a range of Honda and Acura vehicles, bringing a more natural voice assistant experience to drivers. The update will roll out to models that already feature Google built-in software, allowing owners to interact with their cars using conversational language instead of the rigid commands required by the previous Google Assistant.
After signing into a Google account, drivers will be able to request navigation, discover nearby places, ask for recommendations, or search for information in a way that feels much closer to speaking with another person. Gemini can also understand follow-up questions, remember context during a conversation, and provide more relevant responses.
The AI assistant isn't limited to driving-related tasks. It can summarize news, help organize trips, brainstorm ideas, and assist with everyday planning while users remain on the road. Honda and Acura say the upgrade is designed to improve connectivity and make in-car technology more useful during daily travel.
According to Honda, connected services have become an essential part of the modern driving experience rather than just an extra convenience. Integrating Google Gemini reflects the company's goal of giving customers faster access to information, smarter assistance, and a more productive journey.
The software update will be available on selected model years and trims across nine Honda models and three Acura models. Eligible vehicles include the Acura ZDX, MDX, and ADX A-Spec Advance, along with the Honda Accord Touring Hybrid, Civic Sedan Si and Sport Touring Hybrid, Civic Hatchback Sport Touring Hybrid, Prologue, Pilot, Passport, CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid, and the new Prelude.
Would you trust an AI assistant to help plan your trips while driving, or do you prefer keeping in-car technology as simple as possible?
