    Chrysler 300G, 1961

Chassis No.: 8413177698 • Exterior: Black • Interior: Red • 1 of only 1,280 300G Hardtops produced • Comprehensive restoration • Matching numbers 413/375 HP Wedge V-8 engine • Factory Cross Ram induction with dual carburetors • Pushbutton automatic transmission • Factory air conditioning • Full length center console • Power steering and power brakes • Power windows and locks • AstraDome instrument cluster • Remote left mirror • Pushbutton radio • Tinted glass • Chrome wire wheels • Wide whitewall tires • Red leather upholstery with swivel bucket seats • Black exterior finish For fans of Chrysler products, the 300 letter series cars created between 1955 and 1963 were unique. All of these two-door models featured multiple carburation, the brand’s largest-displacement engines and a noted penchant as upscale full-size performance. Whether for a trip to the bank or to the beach, a 300 like the 1961 300G offered here got attention. That model year, only 1,280 300G Hardtops were produced, and this vehicle has already been given a comprehensive restoration. Beneath its expansive hood is a matching-numbers 413/375 HP Wedge V-8 engine featuring factory Cross Ram induction with dual 4-barrel Carter carburetors. This intake allowed for a sonic fuel charge to flow through the engine at passing speeds. Behind this is a pushbutton-operated TorqueFlite automatic transmission, and power steering and power brakes were also part of the design. Riding on a 126-inch wheelbase, the long 219-inch exterior is finished in rich black paint, with the large 300G medallions mounted within the side spears, Exner-inspired tailfins, angled quad headlamps, mild chrome accents and the special C decklid emblem. The interior is extremely deluxe, covered in red leather upholstery with the unique swivel front bucket seats. Among the other appointments are factory air conditioning, a full-length center console, power windows and locks, the AstraDome instrument cluster, a remote left mirror and a pushbutton radio. Matching the ominous black paint is tinted glass. This special car rides on chrome wire wheels with wide whitewall tires, a fitting exclamation point to the package. The 300 model would be revived in the 21st century, still as a performance luxury car. This example from the dawn of the 1960s presents itself as a true icon of the glories of the past, especially with the fins, the finish and that unmistakable long-ram induction. https://www.mecum.com/lots/520642/1961-chrysler-300g/
