This custom 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ47 Troopy is powered by an upgraded 4.7-liter 2UZ-FE gasoline V8 engine mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case and a locking center differential. Equipment includes an aluminum radiator, a fold-down windshield, a high-clearance front bumper, a swing-away rear tire carrier, a receiver hitch and a black soft-top with roll-up windows, as well as a reverse camera, Vintage Air climate control, a touchscreen head unit and Dakota Digital instruments. The body was refinished in beige in 2022. Black-finished 16-inch Pro Comp alloy wheels are mounted with 285/75 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires.
Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs, and the truck has been retrofitted with the independent front suspension and rack & pinion steering system from a first-generation Sequoia. Old Man Emu dampers are fitted in the rear. FJ47s were produced from 1980 to 1985 and were long-wheelbase variants of the 40 Series originally equipped with 6-cylinder diesel engines; this one was converted to left-hand drive. The interior features high-back bucket seats, a second-row bench and inward-facing rear bench seats trimmed in brown and black upholstery with diamond-stitched inserts. Metal surfaces are finished in body color and textured floors.
It also has air conditioning, an aftermarket touchscreen head unit with a backup camera and Pioneer speakers. A later-model switch panel for the electronic transfer case and locking differential functions is mounted beneath the dash. The engine, transmission, transfer case and locking center differential were sourced from a 2007 Toyota Sequoia.
