Chassis LBLC22, a rare long-wheelbase, left-hand-drive version, was ordered through Franco Britannic Automobiles, Rolls-Royce's importer for France, by a Parisian baron in 1957. It was delivered on 30 April 1958 to coachbuilder Henri Chapron to receive a bespoke limousine body with a partition, finished in dark metallic green. The work was completed on 9 November 1958, while the car was not registered until 23 January 1959. The only Silver Cloud ever bodied by Chapron, this coachwork is unique and differs in many respects from the factory version.
On 6 January 1966, the beautiful limousine passed into the hands of Brigitte Bardot, who immediately set off at the wheel for a winter sports holiday in Méribel-Les Allues. A series of photographs bears witness to this iconic period, recounted in Marc Rabineau's book "Stars and Cars." Recognisable by its registration at the time, 9766 PL 75, the car was repainted white at Chapron's and accompanied the actress to Spain for the filming of "Shalako" with Sean Connery in 1968. The actress sold her Rolls-Royce at the beginning of 1970 to Jean Bouquin, her friend and fashion designer from Saint-Tropez.
The car was subsequently registered in the name of a Monegasque woman, and in 1989 underwent a meticulous restoration in England that lasted five years. It was then sold by a renowned Belgian dealer and remained in a German collection for around twenty years, before being purchased in 2017 and receiving a complete overhaul. Finished in an elegant midnight blue with superb beige leather upholstery, this Rolls-Royce is in good working order. Noëlle Chapron has confirmed that she has the car's build file and can be contacted by the new owner.
When a Rolls-Royce is fitted with a unique body by one of France's finest coachbuilders and has belonged to one of the most iconic French stars, it represents an exceptional opportunity.
