This 2010 Porsche Panamera S is a pristine example with only 33,500 miles. The Panamera was introduced in 2009 and was the first full-size four door sedan offered by Porsche. The automotive magazines immediately began comparing it to its other similar priced German sedan competitors such as the S Class Mercedes Benz and the 7 Series BMW. Although all of them were of approximate wheelbase and overall length, the Panamera was a distinctly different offering. Whereas both the Mercedes and BMW were fabulous luxury sedans, the Panamera was a fabulous luxury “sports car” sedan. In other words, it had an equal dosage of “sports car” as it did luxury sedan.
Powered by a 4.8 liter V-8 engine producing 400 horsepower, this Panamera S has amazing performance with a top speed of 177 MPH and a 0-60 MPH. time of 4.7 seconds. It is equipped with the paddle shifter PDK 7-speed automatic transmission. The PDK is programmable at the touch of a button to bring out the Panamera personality of choice. “Normal mode” is best when one desires a smooth ride and at a leisure pace. “Sport Plus” mode brings out the beast in the Panamera and turns it into a very agile and capable canyon carver. Not only does the suspension firm up for tenacious handling, the transmission reprograms itself for more rapid shifting and throttle matched downshifts.
However, it would be overly simplistic to refer to the Panamera strictly as a visceral sports car when it abounds in luxury features such as dual zone climate control, power heated memory seats, sunroof and a premium audio system. This Panamera S presents elegantly with a black exterior–contrasted by red brake calipers–and a black full leather interior with rich wood accents.
