To keep the transaxle 928 coupé model line-up fresh after 12 years in production, Porsche introduced the revised GT variant in the spring of 1989. A tweaked, more sporting design compared to the S4 was befitting of a more powerful engine. The 5-litre V-8 motor now delivered up to 330 horsepower to the rear wheels via a five-speed, dogleg manual gearbox.
The example offered here was built to 1991 model year specification, completed in November 1990, and delivered new to Kortenberg of Belgium. Smartly configured in Slate Grey Metallic to complement a Classic Grey leather-lined cabin, this 928 GT was serviced by Porsche Centre Verellen of Geel annually through to 2000 before moving to Luxembourg at the start of the 2010s, followed by a stint in France.
Acquired by The Curated Collection in February 2016 via the August SA dealer of Ohain, Belgium, the Porsche displays 135,623 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. It is accompanied by its owner’s guides, stamped service book, and history file documenting maintenance work carried out between 2000 and 2014. This attractive and rare manual 928 GT would make a great road car for any marque enthusiast.
Pour que la gamme du coupé 928 reste au goût du jour après 12 ans d'existence, Porsche a lancé au printemps 1989 la version GT. Son allure plus sportive que la S4 méritait un moteur plus puissant, si bien que son V8 de 5 litres développait désormais 330 ch transmis aux roues arrière par l'intermédiaire d'une boîte-pont manuelle à cinq rapports, avec commande de première décalée.
L'exemplaire proposé ici, fabriqué selon les spécifications de l'année-modèle 1991, est sorti d'usine en novembre 1990 et a été livré à Kortenberg, en Belgique. Avantageusement configurée dans la couleur "Slate Grey Metallic" complétée d'un intérieur en cuir "Classic Grey", cette 928 GT a été révisée jusqu'en 2000 par le Porsche Centre Verellen, de Geel, avant de passer au début des années 2010 au Luxembourg, puis en France.
Achetée par "The Curated Collection" en février 2016 par l'intermédiaire de l'agent Porsche August SA, d'Ohain en Belgique, cette Porsche affichait 135 623 km au moment de rédiger ce catalogue. Elle est accompagnée de ses manuel d'utilisation, de son carnet d'entretien tamponné et d'un dossier historique qui documente les travaux d'entretien effectués de 2000 à 2014. Cette séduisante et rare 928 GT à boîte manuelle est une excellente grande routière qui saura plaire à tous les passionnés de la marque.
