Despite gaining a polyurethane rear wing and new front spoiler, the revised “S” variant of the Porsche 928 remained true to the the original 2+2 coupé’s classic and clean silhouette. The updated front-engined grand tourer was also handed an additional 200 cc to round the V-8 engine up to a brawny 4.7 litres for an output just shy of 300 horsepower.
Delivered new in March 1983, the example offered here is presented in its fabulous factory colour of Rauchqaurz (smoke grey) metallic while the interior is trimmed with cream hide. The 16-inch, forged alloy wheels complete the authentic, period appearance.
This Porsche remained in Northern Italy from new through to the 2010s before being acquired by The Curated Collection via the August SA dealer of Ohain, Belgium in June 2016. Then noted as showing 46,400 kilometres, the 928 S has been very sparingly driven since as it displayed only 46,646 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. It further benefits from a space saver spare wheel, jack, tyre inflator kit, plus owner’s guides and service book. A wonderful example of Porsche’s flagship front-engined sports car, this would be a fine addition to any Porsche collection.
Bien qu'elle ait reçu un aileron arrière en polyuréthane et un nouveau spoiler avant, la version "S" de la Porsche 928 restait fidèle à la silhouette classique et pure du premier coupé 2+2. Le nouveau modèle bénéficiait aussi d'une augmentation de cylindrée de 200 cm3, ce qui permettait au V8 de passer à 4,7 litres, pour une puissance de 300 ch.
Livré neuf en mars 1983, l'exemplaire présenté ici est présenté dans la fabuleuse couleur d'usine "Rauchquarz" métallisé alors que l'intérieur est habillé de cuir crème. Les jantes de 16 pouces en alliage forgé complètent son authentique allure d'époque.
Cette Porsche est restée en Italie du nord de l'origine jusqu'aux années 2010, avant d'être achetée en juin 2016 par "The Curated Collection", par l'intermédiaire de l'agent Porsche August SA, d'Ohain en Belgique. Elle affichait alors 46 400 km et, depuis, elle n'a été utilisée qu'avec parcimonie. Si bien qu'au moment de rédiger ce catalogue, ce chiffre n'était passé qu'à 46 646 km. Cette voiture est également équipée d'une roue de secours "galette", d'un cric, d'un kit de gonflage de pneus et de guides d'utilisation. Fer de lance de Porsche, il s'agit d'un magnifique exemplaire de cette grande routière à moteur avant, qui constituera un superbe apport à toute collection de Porsche.
