This 2019 McLaren Senna is one of just 500 produced of the British manufacturer’s Ultimate Series of exclusive hyper-performance automobiles, and with just 95 miles on the odometer, it’s a wonderful example of what many consider to be one of the most magnificent automobiles in history. While the McLaren Senna is street legal, it’s clearly designed to be a purebred race car, a track monster fitting of its namesake, the late Ayrton Senna. The Senna’s 4.0L twin-turbocharged V-8 features race-inspired dry-sump lubrication, a flat-plane crankshaft and lightweight connecting rods and pistons, making it the most powerful engine yet in a road-going McLaren.
Paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch SSG automatic gearbox and a 2,641-pound overall dry weight, the Senna is capable of an astounding 789 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque, which make their way to the pavement through this example’s ultra-lightweight 9-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires. McLaren’s own literature describes the Senna’s acceleration as “savage,” a fitting description for a car that flashes to 60 MPH in 2.7 seconds, a standing quarter mile in 10 seconds flat and a top speed of 211 MPH.
Helping to keep control of all that power on tap are electrohydraulic rack-and-pinion steering and carbon ceramic disc brakes with forged Monobloc 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers, in this case finished in Azure Blue, a color scheme which also carries over to the inner fender and blade trim. The carbon fiber front splitter, rear wing and diffuser beautifully contrast the car’s Pure White paint. Opening the twin-hinge dihedral doors reveals a Carbon Black Alcantara interior featuring McLaren’s Bespoke Interior (a $13,903 option) with a carbon fiber sill panel.
Parking sensors and a rear backup camera help to provide its pilot with an added sense of security when maneuvering the beast in tight quarters, while a Bower and Wilkins seven-speaker audio system (a $5,680 option) is prepared to fill the cabin with tunes to further enhance and fuel the adrenaline rush experienced when behind the wheel. A limited-production track monster, the Senna sits in the highest echelons of history’s performance automobiles, and such low-mileage examples like this 2019 McLaren Senna certainly aren’t likely to become available often, if ever again.
