Built along a strictly limited, 500-car batch, the Senna honors McLaren’s legendary three-time F1 World Champion driver, Ayrton Senna. A track-focused, street-legal hypercar, the Senna was the third member of the McLaren Ultimate Series, following the F1 and P1. Unveiled online on December 10, 2017, the Senna was officially introduced at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Powering the Senna is a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged, aluminum DOHC M840TR 90 4.0L V-8 engine producing 789 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque with twin-screw turbochargers and dry-sump lubrication, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch SSG automatic gearbox.
Spent combustion gases are removed via the Senna’s unique top-mounted Inconel-Titanium exhaust system terminating with three outlet pipes. The Senna’s carbon fiber Monocage III chassis is reportedly the strongest monocoque ever built by McLaren for its road models. Bodywork is extremely strong, yet lightweight carbon fiber. The massive performance envelope of the Senna is maximized by Adaptive Chassis Control, active front and rear aerodynamics, a massive rear spoiler, and large-diameter, competition-type Brembo ceramic disc brakes at all four corners.
As the lightest road-legal model since the legendary F1 of the 1990s, the Senna is capable of 0-60 MPH sprints in 2.8 seconds, the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds, and a top speed of 208-211 MPH, depending on the source. This Senna is car number 344 of the 500 produced, and the odometer reads just 206 miles at the time of writing. Featuring dihedral doors and finished in Supernova Silver paint with black and red accents over black alcantara upholstery, this Senna is deceptively luxurious.
