The Maserati Biturbo was introduced in 1981. The first model was a two-door, four-seater coupe with similar dimensions to the BMW 3 Series. As the name implies, the two-litre V-6 engine came with two turbochargers but it also came with some luxurious appointments. The model was designed by Pierangelo Andreani, an engineer from the De Tomaso team and was powered by a 2.5 litre V6 developing 187bhp. Whilst released as a 2 litre in domestic markets for tax purposes, in foreign markets the car was powered by a 2.5 litre version, designated as "E' for export. In 1983 the range was extended with the Bi-Turbo S which provided another 25bhp and increase in top speed.

This left-hand drive Maserati Bi-Turbo Spider was first registered on the 3rd December 1992. The car has covered what is believed to be a genuine 18,696 kilometres from new and is presented in red with black leather interior. Having resided in sunny Italy for many years, the bodywork and interior of this car are in excellent condition. Buyers should be aware that this lot formed part of a large private collection and has been stood for some time in a heated environment, as such, some remedial works may be required. A light service has just been carried out by marque specialists Terry Keys Motorsport and a mechanical report from Terry Keys will be supplied in the history file at the auction.

This Bi-Turbo Spider represents superb open top motoring value and must be one of the lowest mileage examples left on the road. It is supplied with Italian registration papers.
