The Defender 90 in XS specification offered perhaps the best affordable combination of drivability, passenger comfort for four and rear load capacity.
For 2007, the Defender benefitted from a serious revamp with a new common-rail, 2.4-litre, Ford Duratorq, EU4-compliant turbodiesel, a new 6-speed gearbox, new fascia, new seats and a new heating and ventilation system. First registered in 2007, little is known about this vehicle until the current owner's purchase in 2019. Finished in Java Black, with tinted privacy glass over a black leather and fabric-trimmed interior, it sits on black 16-inch steel wheels, wrapped in off-road tyres. A spare wheel is mounted on the rear door.
Aftermarket modifications include a full-length expedition roof-rack and ladder, front and rear spotlights and lighting bar, sump and steering guard, suspension lift, snorkel, and winch. Subject to a gearbox rebuild in 2020, the Defender is accompanied by invoices detailing substantial recent expenditure including a 'B-service', new sump, exhaust gas valve, steering-arm, ball joint, and an MOT.
