La Lancia Belna, produite entre 1934 et 1937 dans la petite usine de Bonneuil-sur-Marne, n'était autre que la version française de l'Augusta. Résolument moderne avec sa carrosserie autoporteuse, son moteur 4 cylindres en V et les raffinements techniques qui caractérisaient la marque, elle demeure aujourd'hui un modèle particulièrement agréable à conduire. L'exemplaire présenté a été acheté en 1988 par son actuel propriétaire, alors concessionnaire Lancia, et son précédent propriétaire était lui-même distributeur de la marque.
Sa restauration intégrale a été débutée au milieu des années 90: le moteur et la boîte ont été intégralement refaits en Italie, tandis que la carrosserie était entièrement démontée et repeinte. On mesure parfaitement la qualité du travail à l'état de présentation de la voiture 20 ans plus tard. La sellerie avait également été entièrement refaite, en conformité avec l'origine, avec un drap commandé en Italie. Bien évidemment, les trains roulants et le système électrique avaient également été restaurés. Achevée au début des années 2000, cette Belna n'a que très peu roulé depuis et il conviendra de lui faire bénéficier des vérifications d'usage avant de reprendre la route.
Nettement plus rare que l'Augusta, la Belna est une automobile peu ordinaire, raffinée et au comportement moderne… une avant-guerre accessible qui mérite l'intérêt des amateurs. Genuinely modern with its self-supporting bodywork, its 4-cylinder V engine and technical sophistications that characterised this make, it remains to date a particularly enjoyable model to drive.
This specific example was purchased in 1988 by its current owner who was back then a Lancia dealer; its previous proprietor happened to also be a distributor of this make. Its full restoration started in the mid-90s: the engine and gearbox were completely refurbished in Italy, while the bodywork was fully stripped down and repainted. The quality of the work is perfectly measured by the condition of the car 20 years later. The upholstery was also completely redone and according to its original specifications, with a sheet ordered in Italy. Naturally, the running gear and electric system have also been restored.
Completed in the early 2000s, this Belna was barely driven since and would need to benefit from an overall check-up before taking the road again. Definitely rarer than the Augusta, the Belna is an unusual and refined automobile with modern handling… an accessible pre-war car which deserves the attention of enthusiasts.
