Badged as the Delta HF 4WD on its introduction in 1986, the model retained the Volumex blower, before switching to a straightforward turbo upon its transformation into the Integrale in 1987. The latter would prove a supremely capable rally car, winning the World Championship in both 1987 and 1988. Integrale performance was boosted further by the introduction of a 16-valve cylinder head in 1989, maximum power increasing to 200bhp and top speed to 220km/h.

Homologated to maintain the works rally team's competitive edge, the first Evoluzione models were manufactured towards the end of 1991, incorporating wider front and rear track, appropriately altered bodywork, and an engine re-mapped to produce 210bhp—giving the Evo a stunning 5.7 second 0-100 km/h performance—among many other detail improvements. These Evo I Integrales were the last true Homologation cars, as the Evo II never hit the circuit. THE CAR OFFERED This example started life as a standard roadgoing Delta hf Integrale 16V but has been modified with inspiration from vehicles used in European Hill Climb competition.

In addition to being stripped of its road car origins, this vehicle has also been outfitted with a Lancia-Maxi body kit giving it extended wheel arches, side skirts, and new front and rear fascia. The engine has been reportedly upgraded as well, claimed to be pushing close to 600bhp. According to the current owner, recent maintenance includes the installation of a new twin-disc clutch and an AP Racing hydraulic throw-out bearing, rebuilding of both front and rear drive axles, replacement of the brake master cylinder, rebuilding of the rear brake calipers with new pads and rotors, and the addition of a carbon fiber light mount equipped with Hella lights.

If the Delta Integrale had ever had the chance to compete in Group B, this is no doubt the iteration that would have done it. A perfect way to get your kicks on pavement, gravels, sand, or snow.
