Chassis n° ZLA831AB000421105 Appeared in 1979, the Lancia Delta is a compact saloon whose line is signed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Its success was immediate and the press awarded it the European Car of the Year Trophy in 1980. The basic version was followed by the GT, then the HF Turbo, the S4 (intended for Group B rally homologation), the HF 4WD, the HF Integrale and finally the HF Integrale 16v. In 1991 the Italian manufacturer presented the Evoluzione 1. The Lancia Delta in its various versions will reign over the World Rally Championship, which it wins 6 times from 1987 to 1992.
Finally in 1993 the Evoluzione 2 was introduced, which saw the power of the Lampredi 4-cylinder in-line turbocharged now boosted to 215 hp. An emblematic car recognised worldwide for its performance and radical look, the Delta is now enjoying renewed interest among collectors. The car we are presenting is a Delta HF Integrale 8-valve, put into circulation on February 8, 1988. Red in colour, this Delta is in good general condition and its body appears to be sound. Acquired in 2009 by its current owner, it has received rigorous maintenance since then. The engine has been replaced by a block overhauled by the Hayet Motorsport specialist. Less than 5000 km have been covered since then.
During this intervention, it received a reinforced cylinder head gasket and clutch, a new radiator and the ignition system was overhauled. The cooling and lubrication systems have been renewed. The turbo was also replaced and a chip was installed to manage the boost from the passenger compartment. The undercarriage was completely overhauled and the brakes were restored. The rear axle was replaced. On the cosmetic level, the car received a complete paint job several years ago, as well as Martini Racing stickers and a headlight ramp giving it a truly sporty look.
