Styled by Peruvian-born Belgian Luc Donckerwolke, the Lamborghini Murcielago embodied the qualities that defined the brand itself: sleek, aggressive styling, scissor doors, deeply raked windshield and a mid-mounted longitudinal V-12. The Murcielago traded the bad-boy presentation of earlier Lamborghinis in favor of more mature design inside and out, but it was still 100 percent raging bull, especially in the LP640 introduced in 2006. The new designation signified not only the car’s engine orientation—Longitudinale Posteriore or Longitudinal Rear—but its newly updated power output as well, measured in Euro units at 640 PS or 631 HP.
When dressed in this 2009 Roadster’s Nero Aldebaran paint, Nero Perseus interior and gloss Black Hermera wheels, the result is nothing less than Darth Vader personified: all-powerful, overwhelmingly intimidating and science fiction-grade fun. This special-order one-owner LP640 Roadster is loaded with optional extras that added up to an original MSRP of over $441,000, including the lightning-fast E-Gear semiautomatic transmission backing its 6.5L/631 HP V-12 engine. Performance enhancements include a carbon fiber engine brace, carbon ceramic brakes with Yellow painted calipers, aftermarket exhaust and a carbon fiber rear wing.
Black diamond-tufted Q-Citura leather, Yellow stitching and carbon fiber accents dominate the interior, which also incorporates a suede leather steering wheel, rear-view camera, glass rear wind screen, Bluetooth, a Kenwood stereo and exceptionally rare carbon fiber-and-leather sport seats. Offered with up-to-date servicing and records, this one-of-a-kind Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is documented with a copy of the original window sticker showing the long list of factory-installed options, a car cover, seat covers, two keys, driving gloves and owner’s manuals.
