In recognition of Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A.’s founding in 1963, the company introduced the Aventador SVJ 63 in roadster and coupe variants. At the time, the Aventador SVJ was absolutely the most extreme Lamborghini ever built, boasting weight-saving measures and employing Lamborghini’s new Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva, or ALA, system, which provided 40% more downforce over the Aventador SV and a 1-percent reduction in drag. Under a specially designed rear bonnet sat a highly-tuned 6.5L/759 HP V-12 engine and an automatic transmission that thundered the SVJ from 0-60 MPH in just 2.9 seconds onto 120 MPH in just over 8 seconds to a top speed just south of 220 MPH.
Driven by test driver Marco Mapelli and using the optional Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires, an Aventador SVJ prototype wearing specialized camouflage set a new record at Germany’s Nurburgring in 2018 with a lap time of 6:44.97. Today, the Aventador SVJ is still one of the most formidable and exclusive cars in the world. The Aventador SVJ Roadster takes the concept to another level with just 63 examples built, each custom tailored to the buyer’s specification, and this one has covered a mere 559 miles.
Finished in a Blu Emera matte exterior with gold accents, including the optional “63” livery, this Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster features an extensive list of unique options and equipment such as the removable carbon fiber hardtop and visible carbon fiber exterior trim. The carbon fiber rear wing works in conjunction with active grille shutters, which open and close as needed to redirect the airflow, employing its forces to enhance high-speed stability.
Ensconced with paint protection film, the roadster is laden with features and options such as carbon fiber sport bucket seats with the Lamborghini shield embroidered on the headrests, automatic climate control with sun sensor, the $1,100 Travel Package, $1,800 Visibility and Light Package, illuminated carbon fiber door sills with the Aventador logo, rain-sensing wipers, $1,400 carbon fiber footplates, automatic adaptive headlights, 4-wheel steering, active magnetic ride sports suspension and much more.
Carbon ceramic brakes with black calipers, a $1,500 option, are set behind $5,200 forged, center-locking, alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires and $1,400 gold-center wheel locks, the package lending a lot of visual drama to an already dramatic car. Audial drama is furthered thanks to a $4,200 Sensorum surround sound system and stunning dual rear performance exhaust system, which rips exquisite exhaust notes delivered from the specially-tuned 6.5L/759 HP DOHC 4-valve V-12.
To be sold with a Lamborghini car cover, the original window sticker, a battery tender, two keys and a valet key, the ultrarare SVJ 63 Roadster is remarkably well equipped with technology, engineering and luxury features, marking it as one of the most magnificent cars ever built.
