Instantly recognisable 'droop-snoot' RS2000, finished in classic Ford Motorsport colours with Diamond White paintwork and a black interior featuring factory Recaro sports seats.
Developed jointly by Ford of Britain and Ford of Germany, the MkII was a more refined evolution of the iconic Escort platform, powered by a 2-litre SOHC Pinto inline-four, driving the rear wheels through a longitudinal layout. Factory-fitted with a twin-venturi Weber 32/36 DGAV carburettor, with optional dual Weber 40DCNF or IDF 'Group 1' setup, suspension comprised MacPherson struts with anti-roll bar at the front, and leaf springs with telescopic dampers at the rear. Distinctive 'droop snoot' nose with quad headlamps gave the RS2000 its unmistakable front-end profile, 0–60mph in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 110mph - impressive for its era.
Subject to a full bare-metal restoration in 2010 by a respected classic specialist, finished in correct Diamond White. HPI report notes a Category 'C' insurance loss November 2000, prior to restoration. Offered from 20 years’ private ownership as part of a collection of RS models, lightly used since restoration and has aged exceptionally well, still presenting in near-new condition. Guided sensibly to reflect its earlier insurance history and excellent overall presentation.
