First registered in 1983, this RS1600i has been fully restored to original specification using genuine Ford parts sourced from Tim Norton Ford in Oakham. It has covered fewer than 500 miles since the restoration and has been kept in a private Collection. Powered by a rebuilt 1,600cc CVH engine producing 115bhp, it features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel-injection, a new twin-coil setup and deceleration fuel shut-off. 0–60mph in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 118mph.
Finished in Ford Black (Code 64), the car received a bare-shell respray and features colour-coded bumpers with overriders, RS spoilers, correct RS1600i decals, Ford spot lamps and rare 15" RS 7-spoke alloys. The interior is trimmed in Shark Grey with RS logos (Trim Code 1C), matching door cards, carpets with over-mats and black headlining. Factory features include a trip recorder, tachometer, digital clock, electric front windows, central locking and the original Ford RST21P radio cassette. Supplied with original handbooks, MOTs, invoices and full restoration documentation.
Regarded as the forerunner to the RS Turbo, the RS1600i is a rare and iconic early Performance Ford with strong motorsport heritage and growing collector appeal.
