This 1987 Buick GNX is #192 of 547 created for the model year. The GNX, or Grand National Experiment, was made in concert with McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC and highlights an overhauled and improved powertrain, suspension and instrumentation. The GNX version of the 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine is equipped with a larger Garrett turbocharger with an upgraded air-to-air intercooler that produces 276hp and 360 ft/lbs of torque and is mated to a 4-speed programmed automatic transmission.

Its performance, as reported by Car and Driver in 1987, was at the top of the class, with the only car quicker than the GNX from 0 to 60 mph being the Porsche 911 Turbo, which was only quicker by a tenth of a second. The interior features two-tone black and gray fabric with embroidered Grand National logos on the headrests and Stewart-Warner gauges, which are unique to the GNX, housed in the instrument panel. The GNX-specific exterior includes badging and options, including GNX front grille and trunk emblems, 16-inch black mesh aluminum wheels with larger Goodyear tires, front fender venting, front and rear fender flares, and a dash plaque showing this is car #192.

This GNX includes the highly-sought-after original GNX promotional jacket, GNX hardbound marketing picture book, along with the original Bill of Sale and Window Sticker. 1,500 miles (the title reads mileage exempt).
