BMW has designed the system to work effectively with the towering output of the M5’s 4.4L V-8, which employs twin turbochargers, variable valve control and high-precision direct injection to crank out 600 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque through a paddle-shifted 8-speed automatic transmission equipped with launch control. The 2018 M5 offered here has all the makings of a future classic.
Limited to just 400 units worldwide, the $18,300 First Edition option package adds several bespoke features to this already impressive automobile. Identified by its exclusive Frozen Dark Red paintwork, the package includes BMW Individual high-gloss Black Shadow Line trim on the kidney grille, and M5 fender vents, 20-inch light alloy wheels and the quad tailpipes of the included M Sport exhaust system. Piano Black trim decorates the First Edition Smoke White interior, which also includes Apple CarPlay compatibility, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system and red accent stitching.
