Tesla’s New Roadster Can Fly, At Least in Demo
After nine years of waiting, Tesla has unveiled its next-generation Tesla Roadster, and the reveal went far beyond a typical car launch. A prototype climbed a steep track, flipped through the air and landed using SpaceX-supplied thrusters reportedly producing over 80 kN of force. Tesla also claims the electric sports car can hit 60 mph in just 0.8 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 230 mph. Its onboard air tanks feed the thrusters, while a fan system creates suction to boost grip and an active rear wing adjusts for drag or downforce. Three versions are planned: Performance, Thrust and Rocket. The last adds extra thrusters and is claimed to enable flight-like movement. Production is targeted for 2028, but pricing and road legality remain unclear. Could this become the wildest production car ever? And would you trust a car that can leave the ground?
