    Smart Roadster Final Edition, 2006

Chassis No.: WME4524342L042090 Engine No.: 15174050743140 Registration: SM56 XPT Offered without reserve The Smart Roadster Final Edition marked the end of an era for one of the most quirky and fun small sportscars on the market. Produced by Smart, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, the Smart Roadster was a two-seater roadster that combined distinctive design with an emphasis on compactness and urban practicality. However, after years of production from 2003 to 2006, Smart decided to discontinue the Roadster, with the Final Edition serving as the last hurrah for this unique vehicle. The 2006 Smart Roadster Final Edition was distinct from its earlier versions with its special features, designed to make it stand out as the last of its kind. This model was offered with limited-edition badging and a sportier, more refined interior. The special edition also boasted a few enhancements in terms of technology and comfort, such as improved seats and advanced features in the dashboard, making it a more polished version of the already beloved Roadster. Under the bonnet, the Smart Roadster Final Edition featured a 698cc, three-cylinder engine, producing around 80 horsepower. While not an overwhelming amount of power, the car’s light weight (under 800kg) made it feel quick and nimble, perfect for tight corners and fast city driving. It also had a five-speed automated manual transmission, adding a touch of driving excitement without overwhelming the driver. Originally registered on 28th December 2006, this Smart has been very well looked after having had 14 services which are documented in the history folder. We are advised by the vendor that this Roadster drives with no known faults and is very reliable. It is supplied with a V5 registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 1st March 2026, original handbooks and two sets of keys. The canvas roof is in good condition although we are advised it is a little stiff in operation due to lack of use. Production ended in 2006 and the Final Edition remains a sought-after collector’s car today. It encapsulated a time when Smart was exploring bold, unconventional designs, and the Roadster, with its playful spirit, has cemented its place as a quirky but cherished model in automotive history. Smart Brabus Roadster RCR, 2004

Chassis No.: WME4523342L038569 Engine No.: 15189040662778 Registration: S17 DOB A limited-edition Roadster Coupé Racing edition (RCR) was released in 2005 in the UK. Only 50 in the world were made and featured all the Brabus trimmings plus special black Alcantara and leather seats with red diamond pattern stitching. The seats were not heated as they are in the main Brabus model. The black Alcantara and red stitching are also featured on the dash and door panels. Interior door handles and clock surrounds were finished in red to match the exterior paintwork. Each comes with a numbered plaque on the glovebox - stating the build number - RCR UK #/50. These cars were finished in Ferrari Red with matching light surrounds and bumper sections, the Tridion safety cell being all silver. They were made to look like the V6 bi-turbo and came with a free optional SB2 power upgrade kit for the engine, which raised the standard 80bhp to 90bhp. The reason they were not fitted with the 101 PS engine is that the cars came off the production line in 2004 as normal 80 PS engine roadsters before being given the Brabus makeover. The SB2 upgrade was optional to allow customers the option for lower insurance and road tax/CO2 emissions. So, some RCRs did not have the SB2 upgrade carried out when new. There were 50 right hand drive cars (RCR 90) built especially for the UK with the SB2 kit and 90hp. This lovely example of this rare model is number 21 of 50 made in right hand drive and it is presented in the celebratory red/silver with black/red interior as stated above. The car comes with some service history with the last two services carried out by a Smart specialist in Guildford. It has a Thatcham alarm, two alarm fobs, two sets of keys and all the relevant handbooks which can be found in the folder. This superb Roadster coupé is great fun, practical and so cool! Enjoy! Smart Brabus Roadster, 2004

Chassis No.: WME4524372L028041 Engine No.: 15015040606152 Registration: KN04 UEY The Smart Roadster and Roadster Coupé were introduced in 2003, based on a stretched platform of the Fortwo. The two variants are meant to be reminiscent of the British roadsters such as the Triumph Spitfire or the MG B. The Roadster is powered by versions of the turbocharged 698cc 3-cylinder Suprex engine in the rear, which is engineered by Mercedes-Benz. Weighing as little as 790 kg the Roadster is meant to provide the emotion of driving a sports car at an affordable cost; still, its price is not very far from that of a Mazda MX-5. Both the Roadster and Roadster Coupé are available in Brabus-tuned versions with power increased to 101 bhp. The Brabus versions have a different twin sports exhaust, lower suspension, polished six-spoke aluminium alloy Monoblock VI 17" wheels, front spoiler, side skirts and radiator grille. The Brabus version also features stronger clamping of the clutch plates and a faster gear change. Top Gear praised the Roadster, awarding it Fun Car Of The Year for 2005. On offer today is this fabulous Smart Brabus Roadster reading just 53,000 miles and supplied with the original order form and all dealer booklets from new. It is powered by a 101 bhp petrol, 3-cylinder turbo engine with charge cooling mated to a soft-tip, automated, sequential 6-speed transmission. The original list of selected Brabus specification options is extensive but some of the highlights are air conditioning, Brabus sports seats, ESP and convertible roof with partial electric operation. The car comes supplied with a comprehensive stamped service history, showing nine stamps in the book and an MoT test certificate valid until August 2018. This is a fabulous, addictive and fun little car that will surprise many at the traffic lights! https://www.historics.co.uk/auction/lot/?lot=9145&au=13
