      Polestar 4 SUV Turns the EV Into a Wagon

      Polestar has expanded its lineup with the Polestar 4 SUV, a more practical take on the Polestar 4 fastback. Despite its SUV badge, the new model looks remarkably close to an electric station wagon, thanks to its stretched roof and more conventional rear end. The revised shape adds roughly an inch of rear headroom and increases cargo capacity to 23 cubic feet behind the seats and 59 cubic feet with them folded. Roof rails support up to 220 pounds of dynamic load, while an optional electrochromic glass roof can switch between clear, tinted, and partially shaded modes. Inside, the minimalist cabin remains largely unchanged, with sustainable materials and an optional Bridge of Weir Nappa leather interior. Power comes from either a 268-hp rear-drive motor or a 536-hp dual-motor AWD setup. Both use a 94-kWh battery, offering up to 391 miles or 372 miles of WLTP range, respectively. A new Camping mode keeps climate, entertainment, lighting, and vehicle-to-load functions available while parked. Built in Busan, South Korea, the 4 SUV reaches European markets in Q4 2026. But why can't Americans buy it? Polestar is leaving the U.S. after 2026 because of legislation restricting Chinese connected-car technology. Is this the practical Polestar we've been waiting for?
