Named after the tropical destination of Key West, this special edition embraced a more vibrant and youthful appeal, especially appealing to city drivers and those looking for a fun, economical ride. One of the standout features of the 106 Key West was its unique styling touches. The car was typically finished in eye-catching colours, yellow, green, or blue, complemented by distinctive ‘Key West’ badging. The interior also reflected the special edition nature, with a more stylish and refined finish than the base models, including distinctive upholstery and trim options. Under the bonnet, the Peugeot 106 Key West offered a range of small, fuel-efficient engines, typically either 1.1 or 1.4 litres, delivering modest power but excellent fuel economy. This made the 106 an ideal choice for urban environments where fuel efficiency and manoeuvrability were major considerations. Supplied by Roundbush Garage Ltd (Aldenham, Hertfordshire) on 1st August 1993, the lady owner stopped driving altogether not long after buying the car. It has been stored unused in a relative’s garage ever since, hence the incredibly low mileage and time-warp condition. It was serviced by the supplying dealer on 12th November 1993 (324 miles) and had an MoT on 23rd August 1996 (647 miles), but soon afterwards it was put into storage and has been concealed for decades. It has just been recommissioned, serviced and MoT’d. At the same time, the cambelt, water pump and fuel pump were also replaced. The car is supplied with all of the paperwork, including the original bill of sale, stamped service book, owner’s handbooks, MoT certificate dated 23rd August 1996, original V5 registration document and both sets of keys, together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 3rd December 2025 (with no advisories). Finished in Miami Blue, this five-door example is fitted with the 1124cc engine. While the 106 was known for its handling and nimbleness on the road, the Key West edition added an element of fun to the package. Though it may not have been a performance powerhouse, the Peugeot 106 remains a charming and practical option for those looking for a compact, stylish, and economical ride.
