This Titanium backing plate kit consist of 4 plates, that help to prevent brake fluid from boiling. Titanium as a material, has low thermal conductivity. This means that it is very bad at transferring heat. When a thin titanium shim placed between the pad back and the pistons, the braking heat is kept from transferring into the pistons and fluid. For cars that are going to see hard or multiple track days, these shims are a good protection from loosing the pedal pressure due to boiling brake fluid.
