$33,000 USD | Sold
This 1948 Willys Jeep pickup is an early-production civilian cab and chassis example powered by the correct Willys L134 'Go-Devil' inline-4 engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, retaining its original mechanical configuration. Early civilian Jeep pickups were delivered exclusively as cab and chassis models, and this truck was sold new on October 20, 1948, to its original owner in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada.
Following delivery, the vehicle was shipped to Vancouver, British Columbia, where the pickup box was constructed based on factory concept drawings Willys-Overland was developing for late-1948 production, resulting in a period-correct bed configuration that predates standardized factory pickup boxes. The truck remains presented in original condition with its utilitarian interior intact. According to the owner's son, use was primarily limited to local driving within the Okanagan region, with only two long-distance trips recorded, both family vacations to Yosemite National Park.
Accompanying the vehicle is a substantial collection of original paperwork, including repair and workshop manuals, supporting its documented single-family ownership and historical provenance.
