In 1961 Porsche’s coupe and cabriolet bodies were built by the Karmann works in Onasbruck. Porsche decided it could broaden the 356 model’s appeal and increase sales with a hardtop coupe, which was achieved by welding hardtops to cabriolet bodies already in supply. The 1961 356 offered here began its life as one of those production hardtops, and was converted back to cabriolet configuration during a no-expense-spared restoration. Powered by a 1.6 L flat 4 with a 4-speed gearbox, this show-quality Green on Tan cabriolet has been driven very few miles since its completion and is offered with a Certificate of Authenticity to document its original configuration.
