The car was extensively reworked to match the now-legendary "transformed" taxi configuration. It received the complete aerodynamic body kit, distinctive TSW Imola alloy wheels, and the signature bright white paint finish. The interior was similarly modified with bespoke leather upholstery and electric front seats. A racing-style "Alain Prost" steering wheel replaced the standard unit, and the gear lever was reimagined in "aircraft" style. The sun visors conceal a control panel, and the rear compartment even features the humorous motion-sickness ("vomit") bags seen on screen. The suspension was lowered, and the floors and sills were adapted to accommodate the deployable plane-style wings featured in the airport chase scene.
For filming, Luc Besson's production team enlisted renowned rally driver Jean Ragnotti, who performed many of the film's key driving sequences. Ragnotti later signed the car's right-hand mirror, while lead actor Samy Naceri also added his signature—making this example uniquely tied to both the film and its stars.
After filming and subsequent promotional use, the car entered Peugeot's official heritage collection, Musée de l'Aventure Peugeot, in Sochaux. It remained there until 2018, when it was sold at the museum's auction and acquired by Movie Cars Central. The car retains its original film bodywork and distinctive presentation as seen on screen.
Showing fewer than 3,400 kilometres from new, this cult 406 remains one of the most authentic surviving examples of France's most famous movie car.
Offered on a bill of sale and accompanied by an insurance valuation, it would require servicing before being driven.
