In mint condition, the SLK we are presenting is without doubt the least-mileage car in the world! Delivered new in France to the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Longchamps, it had clocked up less than 2,150 km on the day of our test drive. 100% original, everything looks like new| the bodywork has never been repainted, the leather in the cabin is impeccable, as is the dashboard and the plastics in the articulated parts, the tyres are the original Pirelli, but if the structures are in good condition, they will have to be replaced.

Equipped with the facelift of the late 2000s, our SLK is powered by a 2.3-litre 4-cylinder supercharged engine developing 193 bhp| weighing in at 1,385 kg, it is capable of decent performance with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.2 seconds and an average fuel consumption of 13.5 l/100 km in town and 7 l/100 km on the open road A competitor to the BMW Z3 launched a few years earlier, the SLK is the first of its kind to revive the coupé/cabriolet concept with a retractable hardtop called Vario-roof by Mercedes| the roof, operated electrically, retracts into the boot in 25 seconds, and occupies the upper part of the boot, leaving 145 litres of volume for luggage.
