Its unparalleled capabilities have earned the Land Rover 109 Series IIA an international fanbase of dedicated enthusiasts. Known for a durable robustness like few others, the 109 offered a spacious interior and accommodations to make any military vehicle jealous. In short, while durable and robust, they were not known for their creature comforts. Enter E.C.D. Automotive Designs, which has been custom-building exceptionally upscale vehicles for nearly 12 years and currently specializes in Land Rovers while dabbling with Jaguar E-Types and Ford Mustangs.
This particular build is known as “Shilo.” Equipped with a 6.2L Connect and Cruise LS3 V-8 engine and a GM 6-speed automatic transmission, gobs of torque are on tap. The body has been finished in the Mercedes-Benz hue of Desert Sand and set with black accents, including the lower body and roof, front roof rack with four LED spotlights, bumpers, a Warn winch, and Kahn wheels shod with 18-inch BFGoodrich All Terrain tires. The interior features Corbeau Trailcat seats in the front and middle rows, custom upholstered in Garret Spice leather with light brown diamond stitching.
A Momo Indy wood-grain steering wheel, Classic Instruments American Nickel gauges, a JL audio system, a partially extended center console and wireless charging with USB ports throughout further exemplify the attention to detail and level of luxury that E.C.D. has bestowed upon this 109 Series IIA.
