This 1969 Land Rover Series IIA has been tastefully upgraded by an enthusiast owner and is finished in its original color of Limestone. It is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission (dual-range transfer case) and updated with a 200 TDi engine from the 1990s Land Rover, Jaeger instruments in the center of the dashboard and a single exhaust outlet. This example is in great mechanical condition, the gauges work and a newer battery was installed last year. The interior is complete and gives you that military purpose-built feel that people love when driving these vehicles. The beautiful safari top that comes with it doesn't leak, is in great condition and gives that added wow factor.

This Land Rover comes with additional features that include a rear spotlight, winch, front and rear spares, and Westlake radial tires that allow this vehicle to conquer all terrain with ease. The car mechanically works exactly as you would expect. Battery, brakes, steering, differentials and transmission all perform as expected. An inspection was performed, along with a road-worthiness test, in anticipation of the Barrett-Jackson auction to ensure turnkey reliability. The 200 TDi engine paired with this Series II made its first appearance in 1989. It was Land Rover's third attempt at putting a turbo-diesel engine into its range.

This turbo-diesel option was introduced in 1986, with a beefed-up version of the old 2.5 diesel, which could trace its origins back to the Series I. With the new Discovery scheduled for launch in 1989, Land Rover needed a powerful, reliable turbo-diesel, and fast. The 200 TDi proved very durable and economical. From launch, it was the first mass-produced civilian 4-wheel-drive car with doors and an available safari roof. Contrary to conventional car and truck chassis, it used a sturdier fully box-welded frame. Furthermore, due to postwar steel shortage and an aluminum surplus, Land Rovers received non-rusting aluminum alloy bodies, favoring their longevity.
