While outwardly identical to the 1928-29 models, the 1930 Ford Model A trucks were significantly improved. Changes included lower, wider fenders, a higher hoodline, stainless steel radiator and headlight shells in place of the former nickel-plated units; smaller diameter wheels and balloon tires, quicker steering and standard vacuum windshield wipers. With Ford’s versatile inline four cylinder flathead under the hood, the Model A trucks could reach 60 MPH and stop reliably with new 4-wheel mechanical brakes. This Green-on-Black 1930 Ford Model A 1.5 ton dually stake bed pickup hails from the friendly climes of Colorado. The ultimate workhorse of the 1930s, it remains today in excellent cosmetic condition.
