Successor to the 599 GTO and F12tdf, the 812 Competizione is no mere evolution of the 812 Superfast. Unveiled in 2021 to extend the Ferrari trend of introducing a track-honed, hardcore edition of its contemporary V-12 grand tourers, it pushed the front-engine, naturally aspirated formula to its absolute limit.
The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission shifted through the gears more quickly, downforce levels increased, and weight was reduced by 38 kilograms. However, it was the 6,496-cc naturally aspirated powerplant that dominated the technical enhancements. Lighter titanium con-rods, a new coating for the pistons and camshafts, plus a new crankshaft helped boost the rev limit by 600 rpm. The resulting 9,500 rpm red line made it the fastest-spinning internal combustion engine in Ferrari history. Rated at a staggering 819 horsepower, it was also the most powerful naturally aspirated Maranello motor at the time of its launch, with only the more recent 12cilindri of 2024 finally tying its output.
The 812 Competizione hits 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and tops out at 339 km/h, while the carbon fibre-finned bonnet and rear buttresses manage airflow for downforce and stability rarely seen in a front-engined car. Ferrari’s four-wheel steering and E-Diff systems add uncanny agility, giving the driver remarkable confidence and control.
With the production run for this hugely desirable special edition limited to just 999 units, each offered by invitation only, the example offered here was allocated to a prized Ferrari client and delivered new via official Ferrari dealer Kuwait Automobile & Trading Company. Even among its limited-production peers, this 812 Competizione is set apart by its striking, Tailor Made specification. Its exterior is finished in extra-range Matte Bianco Italia Opaco paintwork with Matte Rosso Corsa Opaco external dream lines on the lower carbon fibre elements and rear air vents. Airbrushed Scuderia shields adorn each front wing. Diamond-polished forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli Colour Edition tyres, behind which sit Alluminio brake callipers, complete the exterior.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in Nero Alcantara with Rosso stitching and detailing; the racing seats (size large) even sport a Rosso Cavallino stitched on each headrest, and the steering wheel is also finished with a Rosso Corsa livery. Carbon fibre features abound, from the instrument cover, dash inserts, and upper part of the centre console to the rear parcel shelf. Further equipment includes a high-power hi-fi system and front passenger display, as well as useful features like front- and rear-facing cameras and a suspension lifter system.
In March 2024, the 812 Competizione received its first-year service by its delivery dealer, including replacement of its pollen filter. Carefully maintained by only one owner and driven only 486 kilometres at time of cataloguing, it today presents in essentially new condition—further enhancing the appeal of what is already a highly desirable and exclusive model.
