This beautifully restored and well-documented Ferrari Daytona is one of the first examples completed to right-hand-drive specifications. According to Tony Willis of the Maranello Concessionaires archive, chassis no. 12841 is the third RHD car registered in the UK. It is documented with period correspondence indicating the first RHD example had not yet even been completed when 12841 was ordered.

Rosso Bordeaux
paint and trimmed with a black interior of Vaumol leather, chassis no. 12841 completed assembly in September 1969 and was delivered to Jack Durlacher of London, the cofounder of the well-known stock brokerage Wedd, Durlacher, Mordaunt & Co. As documented by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini and accompanying period service invoices, the Daytona passed through a short chain of British owners through the mid-1970s before being imported in 1977 to New Zealand by Tracey Gough of Christchurch.
A logbook in the Ferrari’s file attests to a life of mild use between 1978 and 1997, as the odometer steadily accrued just over 20,000 miles over two decades. In 2004, the berlinetta was acquired by Christchurch resident Bert Govan, and three years later he invested in a major freshening before selling the car into Australian ownership.
In 2014 the Ferrari returned to the UK, where it underwent a substantial restoration. The coachwork was treated to a bare-metal repaint in its original
Rosso Bordeaux
, while the interior was reupholstered in black leather. All mechanical systems were freshened as needed, including a rebuild of the brakes and suspension and tuning of the timing and carburettors. The opportunity was also taken to tastefully upgrade the steering system with power assist, improving ease of manoeuvrability at slower speeds.
Currently displaying 62,231 miles, this modestly driven 365 GTB/4 was certified by Ferrari Classiche, and the accompanying certification binder states that the car retains its original engine but has been fitted with a replacement transmission of the correct type. Desirably documented and expertly restored throughout, this sensational Daytona is a superb example that would beautifully complement any collection.

Selon Tony Willis, des archives de Maranello Concessionaires, le châssis n°12841 est le troisième immatriculé en Angleterre.
