Seriously quick and totally practical, this rare 507bhp M5 Touring has been well maintained by its BMW enthusiast owner. Launched in 2007 as BMW M's first ever series-production estate, the V10-powered E61 M5 Touring remains one of the most exotic models of its kind. Developed during BMW’s peak in Formula 1, it was powered by a 5-litre, naturally aspirated V10 producing 507bhp at 7,750rpm and 520Nm of torque at 6,100rpm fed through a 7-speed SMG 'Drivelogic' gearbox. Performance was sensational with 62mph appearing in 4.8 seconds and with the speed limiter deactivated, 190mph was theoretically possible.
Finished in Silver Grey Metallic over black leather, this 2007 example is one of just 222 built in right-hand drive and has covered 90,400 miles from new. Offered directly from a BMW employee and enthusiast, it has benefited from extensive refurbishment and maintenance including a replacement clutch and flywheel at 62,010 miles, an SMG service at c.80,000 miles and most notably, a bare engine recondition at a cost of £4,200 (presumably parts only) in November 2022. Presented with its original BMW service book with nine stamps and related invoices from a mixture of main dealer and BMW specialists.
Sensibly guided and with great expense already lavished on it, this appears to be a fantastic opportunity to acquire the legendary V10 M5 in its seldom seen Touring form.
